Appointments Committee of KNUST SRC Parliament recommend for 13 appointees to be rejected by consensus

The appointments committee of the KNUST SRC Parliament chaired by the Deputy Speaker Hon. Eunice Anima Kyeremateng has issued a public statement recommending the parliament to to reject 13 appointees from the SRC President elect Master Michael Abuah. 2 weeks ago the 13th KNUST SRC Parliament appointments committee had a two-day sitting to vet all appointee nominees for the SRC. The committee which was chaired by Her Ladyship Miss Eunice Anima Kyeremateng the deputy speaker of parliament with members as Hon. justice Peprah and Hon Hannah Newman from independence Hall. Nana B celebrates birthday at Children's Ward of UG Hospital

The leading presidential candidate of the 2021 UGSRC race Samuel Amos Ofosu popularly known as Nana B on Tuesday, October 12 2021 showed the world his passion for impact and humanity as he chose to celebrate his birthday with the patients and staff of the University of Ghana Hospital (Children's Ward). Aside the food, fruit juices and large Birthday Cake, Nana B distributed special story books and stationary to the children at the ward. This gesture was received happily by the hospital's chief administration and staff of the children's ward. This short celebration has gained attention in student political circles, with many affirming that indeed, Nana B is a true humanitarian who cares more for people and not just votes. He says he hopes to make this a yearly activity.

Katanga Activism Wing embarks on a project to fight Global Warming

A group of visionary Katangees came together and formed a group consisting of elite students who share a common goal to impact KNUST and Ghana as a whole. These students birthed the Katanga Activism Wing to tackle issues that are pressing in our society. As part of this effort, the Wing donated dustbins to the University Hall on 9th July 2021 for recycling purposes as part of the militant excursion in the fight against global warming and climate change.  The donation was done on behalf of the Wing by its president Mr. Osei Derrick Asare and other executives with some members, notable of all Master Jude Sabutey the SRC presidential aspirant in this year's SRC race. The dustbins were received by the University Hall president Mr.Edmund Kwaku Boateng on behalf of the Hall in line with the precepts of positive dynamism and solidarity.  The initiative was applauded and we'll received by the University Hall president and other members of the JCR.

Affable SRC General Secretary Candidate Tiwaa Benedicta Organizes Skills Workshop for Students

The leading SRC General  Secretary, Miss Benedicta Tiwaa Amankwah believes the office being vied for narrows down not only to secretarial duties but but there’s more to the office. She then decides to go the extra mile prior to being hopeful to winning. She has organised a skill training activity to inculcate key beneficial skills into ladies of KNUST and it's environs. Over the weekend Miss Tiwaa brought together a number of students under a roof and taught them various skills with fake-up being the dominant skill taught at the fare. She is set to do more! TEAM ABUAH GOES ROWDY, CAMPAIGN MANAGER STABS STUDENT

In what appeared to be a heated tassel, the manager of one of the leaders in this year's SRC Presidential Race, Michael Abuah stabbed a Katanga Student. The unfortunate incident took place at the Great Hall, KNUST. At about the late hours of Saturday, 3rd July, 2021, hundreds of Katanagees stormed the Great Hall in a bid to throw weight behind their endorsed candidates. A group of people, supposedly supporters of Michael Abuah tried to stop them from entering the Great Hall. The Manager of Michael Abuah, Joshua Budu led the group to block the Katanagees. In the heat of the moment, Joshua Budu, the manager of team ABUAH broke a bottle and stabbed a Katanga Student (name withheld for now) in the rib. Reports indicate that Joshua Budu also got injured in the process. Other reports indicate that other people from team ABUAH pulled out knives and threatened some other Katanga Students. Jude Sabutey  KNUST SRC Presidential aspirant Jude Sabutey has advanced plans to hold an open forum on the state of the KNUST SRC this Thursday on one of the most resounding social media applications — Zoom On a flyer released by the camp of Jude Sabutey, the leading aspirant in the year’s election campaign has affirmed that he will engage the students of KNUST and voice his vision to the community for the electorates to understand the charge he has to keep. Following concerns raised by students against the Health Science Students Association - HESA Electoral Commissioner over change in voting process and system at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) constituency, it becomes prudent to educate electorates and interested parties on the situation and assure these knowledgeable people that there has been no foul play Vodafone Ghana relayed an official information to KNUST (UITS) that they’ve had an issue with their fiber optic cable around the oforikrom municipality towards Kumasi metropolis. They issued this said notice around the hours of 6pm yesterday and further advised UITS to find alternative means for students to vote since providing internet will be an issue for them. SRC Parliamentary Council approves the formation of UNRC; new constituencies have been formed

The 12th KNUST SRC Parliament has at their first sitting of the 2nd session approved the new UNION OF NON RESIDENTIAL CONSTITUENCIES (UNRC) constitution which sought to clearly demarcate and show boundaries between constituencies. The formation of the UNRC will help solve the many issues of the Non-Residential caucuses as it becomes difficult knowing who does what and who is who. Following this, it has been granted for the creation of new constituencies for this year's electoral process which implies the addition of two new members to parliament. Rt.
