Senior Minister, Hon. Yaw Osafo-Maafo Hints Government Readiness to Curb the Problem of Inadequate Residential Facilities for Students.
The Senior Minister, Honourable Yaw Osafo-Maafo has on Thursday, November 19, 2020 indicated government's readiness to provide special incentives with reduced interest rates through the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana for private sectors to provide residential accommodation for students of the University. The Minister made the response after the Pro-Vice Chancellor, of KNUST, Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo seeked for government’s support in curbing the problem of inadequate residential facilities for students in his interaction with the Senior Minister. Speaking on their mission to the university, the Minister stated that, the meeting with the university formed part of the stakeholders’ consultations on the ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ initiative by the government.
