POLITICS TODAY: Analyzing the May Polls, Jude, Benedicta, Derek and Delali’s Victory

  NB: This analysis is skewed to the polls conducted by the KNUST TigerEye Media in the month of May. We've begun a new semester, and we all know this is a political season. And as one of your trusted media houses, we always take it upon ourselves to help candidates know their chances and the student body as a whole know what others think of their favourite candidates as well. On the 7th of May, 2021, we started an opinion poll on Twitter to know who has a higher chance of winning the upcoming general elections. And the following are the results concerning each position.  For presidency, Jude Sabutey, DSK, Kevin Abban and Michael Abuah were the aspirants on the polls (the rest should pardon us but Twitter allowed just a little space and we selected the top favorable candidates per our discretion not to defame or sideline any candidate). There was a total votes of 1,466. Kevin Abban had 11.9% of the votes, DSK also got 33.7%, and Jude Sabutey won the poll with 35.6%. Michael Abuah e

THE NEED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE; HoDs MUST GET TIME

There are a lot of stories we've heard about lectures discouraging, not supporting or giving their best to help their students making it difficult for students to even approach them. Isn’t this assertion true? We thought we were far from this until recently after a 3rd year English student nearly dropped out of school, after trying all possible means to get her HOD's signature on her scholarship forms. Just a signature? Getting an audience has become an issue? How do they expect students to go through such hardships and hide and seek games and also low prioritizing? Listen to this story, a lady in a department in the largest faculty in KNUST approached her Head of Department to get her signature on her scholarship forms in order to secure her spot but her efforts were to no avail, as she was told by the Secretary to the HOD that she was busy and has to come later.
