Situation at KATH Constituency-HESA explained, voting process still legit and intact

Following concerns raised by students against the Health Science Students Association - HESA Electoral Commissioner over change in voting process and system at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) constituency, it becomes prudent to educate electorates and interested parties on the situation and assure these knowledgeable people that there has been no foul play

Vodafone Ghana relayed an official information to KNUST (UITS) that they’ve had an issue with their fiber optic cable around the oforikrom municipality towards Kumasi metropolis. They issued this said notice around the hours of 6pm yesterday and further advised UITS to find alternative means for students to vote since providing internet will be an issue for them. There was no other alternative than to resort to paper or manual voting system.

Students are to note that all electorates who are at the Komfo Anokye Hospital ( KATH constituency) have their names taken off the electronic database therefore they cannot vote electronically and all who are not at the KATH constituency also don’t have their names on the manual database that will be used to vote. Only those who have their names in the manual database can use the ballot paper system to cast their vote. After which they will be marked with an indelible ink to signify that they have voted.

Students and interests parties are to not worry as the voting system is still legit and intact. The integrity of the commission is intact. No one is to blame, wether the commission or UITS
