Largest Faculty in KNUST Greetings to you all my colleagues in the faculty of Social Science. I strongly believe we are all working assiduously towards our impending Mid-Semester Exams and surely we  shall all sail through successfully. First, this article is to expose a white elephant within the faculty of social sciences. If we recall very well, last semester, many students within this faculty went to the polls to elect new set of student leaders to man the affairs of the Social Science Faculty. In fact, the process was a hectic one and lovers of the growth of our democracy and student Politics toiled very hard to ensure the right people are elected to serve in the interest of the people and not  in their personal  interest and I still recall how this so called  White elephant pulled and begged  students out of their hall of residents to cast their votes in his favour. The Duty Bound My heart is shattered when the candid meaning of leadership has not yet sank in the hearts of our "so-called " leaders.  Frankly, I am troubled and quiver in despair whenever I mull over the future of KNUST.  The future with the "bigger picture," which became the "duty bound," hence, the former was supposed to correspond latter; even relentless, but this seems bleak. The current SRC president, Mr Adu Baah Charles once stated, "I strongly believe in leaving legacies in the lives of students populace." I'm not trying to be a thorn in one's side; but have we considered and questioned, at least in our minds, what genre of legacy he is leaving behind? I live you to judge with an unbiased mind. Second Suit on SADR Dropped; SRC Speaker Exonerated

The Judicial Chairperson of the KNUST SRC His Lordship Michael Gyan quashed a second petition against the SRC Speaker of Parliament, The Parliamentary Council and the Legal Affairs Commission. KNUST SRC Speaker of Parliament  The SRC Speaker was sued over breeches in the processes that ensured the passing of the Student Association Dues Rate Act 2019 (SADR 2019). After a preliminary hearing by the Judicial Chairperson, he ruled that the case brought before him is the same case which was brought before the court some weeks ago and a verdict has been published to that effect. He therefore declined the case. The Speaker of Parliament together with the Parliamentary Council and the Legal Affairs Commission are thereby exonerated of all charges. KNUST SRC Speaker of Parliament wins Law suit against him on the “Flat rate Bill”

The Honorable Speaker for the 11th KNUST SRC Parliament Rt. Hon Asamoah Agyemang Hunvilla has been served a court summon on the flat Rate Bill passed by his  parliament. Rt. Hon Hunvilla Asamoah – Speaker, KNUST SRC Parliament  The plaintiff to the case Mr Joseph Kelvin Edem Boso has petitioned the SRC Court over the flat rate Bill passed some few weeks ago to declare it null due to the presence of some unconstitutionality. Defendants to the case have been sighted to be the SRC Speaker to the Parliament, the SRC Parliamentary Council and the SRC Legal Affairs Commission. Our media outlet however in an interview with the Rt. Hon Asamoah established that he knew nothing about the suit. He however rubbished it off with claims that the SRC Speaker cannot be dragged to court when he’s serving in the capacity as Speaker of Parliament. KNUST SRC Welfare Commission Launch Letter Day The KNUST SRC Welfare Commission has today launched its flagship program. The “SRC Welfare Letter Day” will grant students of the the University an opportunity to phone designated Executives for them to hear their cries and worries. Also issues bothering students ranging from Academic, social, financial, emotional or any other stress related problems can be discussed for a suitable outcome. The Welfare Commissioner, Master Wahid Fatawu earlier this week hinted on the launch which will happen today. He explained that the purpose of this initiative is to bridge the gap between the student populace and the SRC. In his words, he said this initiative of the commission will grant students assess to permanent contact address lines for students to be able to communicate their problems properly for support.
