Katanga Blesses Jude Sabutey with an endorsement ahead of SRC vetting

Jude Sabutey has finally been endorsed as the presidential candidate of the most powerful and prestigious Hall, University Hall - Katanga last Friday night.

After series of conversations and events, Jude Sabutey has finally been crowned as the official candidate for Katanga. Jude Sabutey is a third year Biomedical engineering student who completed one of the best schools in the country - Prempeh College and affiliated to Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA). Jude had his basic education at Three Stars educational center where he was the Senior boys prefect. Sabutey furthered his education at the KNUST Junior High where he was again the senior boys prefect. He climbed the educational ladder to the next level being the first Assitant Boys prefect at Prempeh College in 2018.

In 2018 at prempeh college, he was the GUNSA President and became the PENSA-KNUST Special Advisory to the President.in 2019/2020 he was the Ghana Engineering Students Association - GESA Academic board member and was doubling as the deputy sponsorship head for university Hall. He became the organizing secretary for PENSA Political chamber. He was the Academic Board chairperson for the University Hall and also the vice coordinator for PENSA Political chamber.


JOSHUA MENSAH LOGLO, SRC Vice President Aspirant 

Joshua Mensah Loglo is the gentleman who is aspiring to be the next Vice President of KNUST, the running mate of Jude Sabutey. Joshua graduated from the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School to read Doctor of pharmacy in KNUST which he is a fifth year student currently. Loglo is affiliated to the Ghana Methodist Students Union - KNUST

In 2016, Joshua Loglo was a member of the organizing committee for the Ghana pharmaceutical students Association. He became the chairperson of the organizing committee for the Ghana pharmaceutical students Association in 2017. 2018, he was the deputy international relations officer of the Health Science Students’ Association of KNUST. In 2019 Joshua Loglo became the Projects Officer of the Health Science Students’ Association of KNUST and he was serving as the International Relations Officer the Health Science Students’ Association of KNUST in 2020

Neglected Roads, Neglected Students: The Perilous Journey of KNUST Students Off-Campus

A dangerous footbridge students use The roads students ply off-campus, especially Ayeduase, home to many students, have long been a source of frustration and danger.  Despite being a key route for students commuting to and from the university, the condition of those roads has continued to deteriorate, with no plans for improvement in sight. The rainy season exacerbates the situation, transforming the roads into a maze of mud and deep potholes. Students are sometimes seen jumping on stones to avoid messing their shoes. During the dry season, the roads are marred by dust and uneven surfaces, making travel uncomfortable and hazardous.   For students off-campus, this means navigating treacherous paths daily, risking their safety and well-being in the process. Adding to the hazards are the open trenches, unsafe bridges and makeshift wooden structures over gutters. The hilly and rocky terrain further complicates the commute, requiring students to maneuver through challenging landscapes.  As

KNUST BUDGET READING TURNS CHAOTIC  The 16th KNUST SRC Parliamentary budget reading turned chaotic after members objected to the financial secretary’s fundraising and allocations. Sparking tensions among attendees. Members bemoaned low accountability and clarity in how the budget was read. On 3rd March, Mr. Ohenaku Kelvin the KNUST SRC Financial secretary was according to the constitution of the SRC stipulated to appear before the Parliament House and present budget of the 2023/2024 academic year. After reading a 42 page budget, submissions were made on the budget. According to eye witnesses, the chaos started when the speaker of Parliament gave mandate to only caucus heads to give their submissions.
