KNUST Commemorates World Statistics Day And International Year Of Women In Statistics And Data Sciences

The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has on the 28th of October, 2020 hosted a symposium to commemorate World Statistics Day and International Year of Women in Statistics and Data Science sponsored by International Statistical Institute. The symposium dubbed “Connecting the World with Data we can Trust” was held at the Allotey Auditorium, KNUST. Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, KNUST Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo, the Pro-Vice Chancellor in his welcome address, indicated that since the outbreak of COVID-19, the information received from world statisticians regarding the pandemic are science and data, hence, it is imperative for the world to rely on trusted and available data. In view of this, the theme of the symposium is appropriate.
