  The end of semester exams approaches, students across the university are hitting the books and gearing up for the upcoming examinations.  Libraries are bustling, study groups are in full swing, and the atmosphere is charged with a sense of urgency and determination. However, amidst the diligent preparation of the majority, there's a notable contrast with a subset of students who seem unfazed by the looming exams. These students, colloquially known as the ' last-minute association' , appear to be taking a more relaxed approach to their studies, with little sign of the impending exams on their radar. A second year KNUST student has been spotted motionless on Friday, February 17th 2023 at Ultimate Hostel (formerly Evandy hostel) in a video circulating with different back stories.  It is alleged that he fell from the fourth floor of the annex block after attempting to jump from one balcony to the other. A statement received from a witness states that, "They were reported for smoking which led the Police to  secure a spare key from the hostel Potter to unlock the door when they got the news. In their quest to escape nuisance, they tried to jump from their balcony to the next which was a successful attempt for the room owner but the victim who's a visitor unluckily slipped and fell". Another statement from an eye witness states that "they were smoking and someone went to report them....so the security men came knock at their door...and he was trying to escape from his balcony to the next balcony and his hand slipped causing his death".   CampRide Bus The KNUST SRC President Master Frank Owusu on Monday 13th February confirmed through a tweet that his administration has negotiated for private shuttles to augment the services provided by the Campride. Over the years, transportation on and off campus have been a major challenge for students. Students would have to go through hell before moving from one point to another. The situation has become worse now especially when the university increases freshmen intake year in year out. One would have to join a long queue in order to join a shuttle that is even overcrowded which is not condusive for students.  Students are mostly late or even absent from classes because of transport challenges. Tracy Antwiwaa Darfuor Dr. James Osei, the chairman for the Union of Non-Residential Constituencies has been served with a petition for the provision of a pharmacy facility at GAZA for students who reside in that vicinity  Students who reside at GAZA - Anglican Hostel, Suncity, Georgia, Wilkado, Banivillas and a host of others are occasionally forced to visit the Kentinkrono township or Ayeduase newsite to get a pharmacy to fulfil their medical needs. This issue has been one not to write home about for years. Students however on several occasions have complained to student leaders to resolved the situation. Miss Tracy Antwiwaa Darfuor Miss Tracy Antwiwaa Darfuor a student from the department of Sociology and Social Work has through a letter to the Vice Chancellor requested for an extension of the school shuttle working hours. In a letter dated 18th August 2022, Miss Tracy Antwiwaa Darfuor passionately appealed to the University management through the office of the Vice Chancellor to consider and renegotiate the working hours of the university shuttles which commute students to and fro the campus during lecture periods. In the letter, she recognized that the academic calendar for the year has been seen to be a but different from the norm as such forcing lecture hours to be extended in order for the days activities to be fulfilled. She plead with management about the safety of students who ply the dangerous routes of the University back to their abodes. Mavis Abangremah Akolbila who topped the SRC vetting for the WOCOM section has released her health policy and it's more centered on breast cancer.  The incidence of breast cancer in Ghanaian women is about 76 per 1000 women.  Higher than most part of our continent and even the world despite the continual effort made by several governments to remedy this situation. Mavis has laid out her views on why this situation is so and has also suggested how she will make sure she aids in this fight against breast cancer in Ghana starting with females in KNUST.  She promises to organize free breast screening and examination every single month for the females. Not only that, the young lady seeks to equip our ladies with the necessary procedures one can undergo to self examine one's breast without any assistance from a medical expertise.   *TWO OF THE SIX INCREDIBLE POLICIES FROM JOMO KENYATTA, AN SRC FINANCIAL SECRETARY ASPIRANT* Jomo Kenyatta, an SRC Financial Secretary lays his policies, two of which caught the attention of many.  The young man promises to aid in adding voices to our letters for sponsorship and scholarships by *validating our scholarship and sponsorship letters with SRC seals*.  He believes that ,Some students don't get certain opportunities because those who are offering such opportunities can't validate the genuineness of their requests.  Having a seal from the SRC imprinted on those requests will improve it's  credibility for more positive consideration.
