*TWO OF THE SIX INCREDIBLE POLICIES FROM JOMO KENYATTA, AN SRC FINANCIAL SECRETARY ASPIRANT*


Jomo Kenyatta, an SRC Financial Secretary lays his policies, two of which caught the attention of many. 


The young man promises to aid in adding voices to our letters for sponsorship and scholarships by *validating our scholarship and sponsorship letters with SRC seals*. 



He believes that ,Some students don't get certain opportunities because those who are offering such opportunities can't validate the genuineness of their requests. 

Having a seal from the SRC imprinted on those requests will improve it's  credibility for more positive consideration.


He also promises to create *a separate account for the OBUASI SRC*.



A pertinent issue at the OBUASI campus is a delay of the disbursement of their funds which renders them eventually cancelling their programs planned, and this is due to an absence of a separate bank account for the campus. 



In an interview with Jomo Kenyatta, he stated that upon further inquisition ,he found out that an initial plan has been put in place for the creation of a separate account for the OBUASI campus.



 In his words he stated, " I will make it a mandate to see the finalization of this project to enable them to host their projects free from FINANCIAL PERPLEXITIES".

Neglected Roads, Neglected Students: The Perilous Journey of KNUST Students Off-Campus

A dangerous footbridge students use The roads students ply off-campus, especially Ayeduase, home to many students, have long been a source of frustration and danger.  Despite being a key route for students commuting to and from the university, the condition of those roads has continued to deteriorate, with no plans for improvement in sight. The rainy season exacerbates the situation, transforming the roads into a maze of mud and deep potholes. Students are sometimes seen jumping on stones to avoid messing their shoes. During the dry season, the roads are marred by dust and uneven surfaces, making travel uncomfortable and hazardous.   For students off-campus, this means navigating treacherous paths daily, risking their safety and well-being in the process. Adding to the hazards are the open trenches, unsafe bridges and makeshift wooden structures over gutters. The hilly and rocky terrain further complicates the commute, requiring students to maneuver through challenging landscapes.  As

KNUST BUDGET READING TURNS CHAOTIC  The 16th KNUST SRC Parliamentary budget reading turned chaotic after members objected to the financial secretary’s fundraising and allocations. Sparking tensions among attendees. Members bemoaned low accountability and clarity in how the budget was read. On 3rd March, Mr. Ohenaku Kelvin the KNUST SRC Financial secretary was according to the constitution of the SRC stipulated to appear before the Parliament House and present budget of the 2023/2024 academic year. After reading a 42 page budget, submissions were made on the budget. According to eye witnesses, the chaos started when the speaker of Parliament gave mandate to only caucus heads to give their submissions.
