KNUST Collaborates with GAF to train Quality Health Professionals.

George and Angelina Owusu Foundation (GAF), an NGO has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology at the Council Chamber on 23rd November, 2020.The MoU will help to train high calibre of health professionals. GAF is an NGO with the vision to impact lives in Ghana through healthcare initiatives, primary and elementary and economic development.  The GAF with the requisite facilities for training, service and research would allow personnel from KNUST to undertake clinical training at its facility and offer service provision to patients. Japan Motors Donates Locally Assembled Nissan Pick-Up to Department of Mechanical Engineering, KNUST.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, of the College of Engineering KNUST has received a donation of a locally assembled Nissan Pick-Up from Japan Motors Trading Company Limited, a leading automobile company in Ghana. Presenting the Pick-Up to the management of KNUST, Mr. Salem Kalmoni, the managing director of the automobile company stated that, the building of a local assembly plant is part of efforts of the company to develop a comprehensive automobile industry in Ghana to serve the locals and other other African markets as well. The plant will also promote skills development and job creation for graduates in Ghana.  The Managing Director further congratulated Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson on her appointment as the first female Vice-Chancellor of KNUST. Senior Minister, Hon. Yaw Osafo-Maafo Hints Government Readiness to Curb the Problem of Inadequate Residential Facilities for Students.

The Senior Minister, Honourable Yaw Osafo-Maafo has on Thursday, November 19, 2020 indicated government's readiness to provide special incentives with reduced interest rates through the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana for private sectors to provide residential accommodation for students of the University. The Minister made the response after the Pro-Vice Chancellor, of KNUST, Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo seeked for government’s support in curbing the problem of inadequate residential facilities for students in his interaction with the Senior Minister. The NDC  Parliamentary Candidate for Oforikrom Constituency, Hon. Henry Osei-Akoto has lamented over the unending exorbitant hostel prices suffered by students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in his constituency. The Honourable Aspirant and former student of the University stated how hotels owners increase prices outrageously every year to extort students who have no alternative than to resort these same hostels. The Honourable Aspirant in his quest of  unseating the current Member of Parliament of the constituency pledged that a vote for Henry Osei-Akoto is a vote for a push for regulation of KNUST hostel prices and by extension, a general university hostel pricing in Ghana. Sad News: Immediate Past President of Unity Hall JCR KNUST Passes on.

News reaching the front desk of KNUSTTigerEye indicate that, the Immediate past President of the JCR of the biggest hall in West Africa, Unity Hall has passed on. Mr. Doe Salassi as purported by sections of the media was admitted at the hospital after he complained of malaria but could not respond to treatment afterwards.  The sad news has however left majority of friends and family of the deceased in mystery . Funeral arrangements as well as burial date for the deceased have not been communicated as relatives of the deceased are psychological traumatised by the sad incident. Management  of KNUSTTigerEye media inc. wishes to express their condolence to the bereaved family. May the soul of Mr. Doe Selassi rest in perfect peace and in Power. Management of Consolidated Bank Ghana Honours Vice-Chancellor of KNUST

Mr. Daniel Addo, Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana-CBG together with some selected staff of the bank has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST. Prof (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson on the 16th of November, 2020. On behalf of the Bank, Mr. Addo presented a citation to Professor Dickson in merit of her appointment as the first female Vice-Chancellor of KNUST. He recounted the relationship that has been cemented so far and assured management of the university a more stronger collaboration in the coming year.
