The Centre for Business Development (CBD) of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has commissioned a TJ 150 KVA PE5L diesel generator at a total cost of GHC 141,150.000. Handing over the generator to centre, the Director of Procurement, Mr. Edward Nketia-Asante stated that the generator was procured through a National Competitive Tendering (NCT) process, with 11 companies participating; Klataa Engineering Solutions Company Limited eventually won the bid for the tender process. Prof. (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST has initiated two committees to develop action plans for the vision of the University for next four years and review the University's strategic plan for the years 2016-2026. The two committees are the Strategic Plan Midterm Review Committee with the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Prof. Ellis Owusu-Dabo as the chairman and the other committee which is made up of seven sub committees, are to work on seven Thematic Pillars.   For the second time, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been ranked the best University in Ghana and the 12th best University in Africa, according to the US News and World Report rankings for 2021. The University ranked 14th best University in Africa last year. KNUST is thus, ranked ahead of all public and private universities in Ghana to secure the topmost position as the best University in Ghana; the University is also placed ahead of over 40 Universities in Africa such as; University of Casablanca Hassan in Morocco, the University of Makerere in Uganda, Ain Shams University in Egypt which occupied the 13th, 14th and 15th positions respectively with University of Ghana placing 24th in the ranking. The Faculty of Built Environment under the College of Art and Built Environment of KNUST has organised a one day orientation seminar for newly recruited lecturers and research fellows. The event held at the CABE Conference room saw new and some old faculty members in attendance.
