SCISA TODAY: College Of Science Provost Set to Clear the Air on Supplementary Exams Today.

The Provost of the College of Science, Prof. Leonard K. Amekudzi is set to provide clarifications and dispel confusion with regards to the supplementary exams amidst the abnormalities posed by the COVID-19 pandemic on a much anticipated SCISA TODAY PODCAST SHOW. The show which is scheduled today 24th September, 2020 at 16:30 GMT with Julius Acheampong Kwabena as the Host/Moderator, will have the president of the college, Michael Abuah as a co-guest alongside the special guest, Prof. Leonard K. KNUST elects a new Pro Vice-Chancellor today

Members of Convocation of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) will today, September 23, 2020 elect a new pro vice-chancellor following the appointment of the former, Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson as Vice-Chancellor. The voting, which is expected to start at 0800 hours and end 01400 hours will take place at two main centers; The Great Hall Foyer on campus and  the Clinical Students Hostel, KATH. The Vice-Chancellor has, in accordance with the university’s status 13(b) nominated three persons for the position of Pro-VC. They are; Ellis Owusu Dabo, Dean, School of Public Health, Prof. Sir Eugenia Amporfo, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Prof. Wilson Agyei Agyare, Dean of Students. The Pro-VC position has since August 1, 2020 been occupied for the time being by Prof. Mark Adom-Asamoah, Provost of the College of Engineering. South Sudanese fourth year biochemistry student under the scholarship of MasterCard foundation has been elected as the president of MasterCard Scholarship Students Association at KNUST.  It can be recalled that few months ago, Mr. Diing Diing sparked a lot of controversy and concerns on social media after he allegedly abandoned the scholarship scheme and left campus, insinuating the maltreatment of international Scholars by the lead of the programme at KNUST which caused the Sudanese embassy in Ghana to release a missing person’s statement. Vice-Chancellor of KNUST Hints on a Probable "Phase Reopening" Plan for the 2020/2021 Academic Year

The Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology - KNUST, Prof (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson has revealed the plan put in place by the university management to kick start the 2020/2021 academic year in case the need arises. The Vice-Chancellor made this revelation in her meeting with Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (WiSTEM) on the 3rd of September 2020, where a question was posed to her on plans for the next academic year. In her quest of answering the question, the Vice Chancellor stated that several consultations and strategic plans have been made by the university senior members and management to ensure that the abnormality precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic does not eat so much into the academic float set out by the university. Dr. Evans-Anfom and Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson Professor (Mrs). Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has paid a courtesy call on the 101 year old 2nd Vice-Chancellor of the university at his residence in Osu. The Professor thanked Dr.Evans-Anform for his role in nurturing a great University and informed him that KNUST is now the best University in west Africa, Ghana and the 14th best University in Africa. Dr. Evans-Anfom was full of praise for the Management of the University. He said it is prayer that the University will continue to go higher and higher in all spheres. Citations were also presented to Dr. Evans-Anform from the Medical and Dental Council of Ghana and Osu Salem Old Boys Association (OSBA) to honour his services.
