KNUST SRC to launch its 60th Anniversary at Kumapley Auditorium this Saturday

The much awaited launch will take place at the Kumapley Auditorium (GESA Auditorium) on Saturday the 13th day of March exactly 10am. Speaking on Community Watch on Tuesday evening hosted by Raheem Awaafo, the KNUST SRC Financial Secretary Osei Fosu Solomon gave out details of the anniversary celebrations. He stated that the SRC is on course to making the event a memorable one as they have invited most of the past KNUST SRC Presidents making mention of notable ones such as Boakye Nyamekye Isaac (BNI), Samuel Amoako Kusi (SAK), Kelvin Sah (noted for the famous 22nd September 2018) and many others. He also promised the presence of many dignitaries such as past Vice Chancellors of the university. KNUST:HESA OPENS APPLICATION FOR THE S)MESO FINANCIAL PACKAGE.

The S)MESO FINANCIAL PACKAGE for financially challenged students of the Health Sciences Students Association - HESA applications have been opened.  The executive committee of the Health Science Students Association has released a statement that to be eligible, the student must be a regular student, and in first year to the 6th Year. And to apply, a proof of need in a maximum of five lines is required, and the most recent results slip for continuing students and WASSCE result for first year students.  Applicants are to also provide Schedule of Payment of School Fees, from first year to date. Deadline for submission of application forms is Friday, 19th March, 2021, 4pm at the College Provost's Office and to the HESA General Secretary, Bright Ackon of VALCO HOSTEL, Room 1 for students at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital or call him on 0249186788. Boakye-Dankwah Asare provides security tips during the mid-semester examinations.

Mr. Boakye-Dankwah Asare has today in a public release provided students with some safety tips during the mid semester examination period as students study late into the night.  In his release, he admonished students to take notice of the pointers he has put together as they would be of immense help to them in this period of exams. πŸ“Œ Make sure you have your student’s ID card on you to guarantee your access to the Exam Hall. πŸ“Œ Be sure you have your own Pencils, Pens, erasers. Organizers of the annual campus pageant Face of KNUST has opened nominations for interested ladies to pick forms for the 2021 edition of the FACE OF KNUST PAGEANT.  "Projecting values through the beauty of women" is the motto, this pageant is not only to showcase beauty, but to also project certain values outside for societal change and to also inspire others as well. This being the reason why when it comes to choosing the beauty queen, the face is not the only qualification considered. KNUST: Potential campus MP aspirant appreciates hardworking security men on campus

The Independence Hall Vice President Abdul Manaan Kareem has donated food items to all campus security for the enormous work they undertake as students and people go about the duties on campus without fear of harm. The nice gesture was done to appreciate the security officers for protecting the student populace. He explained his reason for gifting them the food by saying that students living in hostels have difficulty in learning with the motive that they will be attacked by criminals and and get looted off their possessions. With the deligent work which is done by the securities, students can study at the various learning commons within the confined areas of the school.  Students usually find it difficult in studying at dawn and night, they can now do so with the help of the security officers by protecting them in their endeavors. Mohammed Ali SOCIOSO Vice President announces the disbursement of SNTF.

The release of this year’s list of beneficiaries of the SOCIOSO Needy Trust Fund (SNTF) is quite different from the norm. And this is to replace the old formula of publishing list in order to promote the confidentiality as the welfare commission All applicants of the 2019/2020 SNTF scheme who have duly undergone the process are advised to check their status with the Vice President. KNUST SRC WOCOM donates COVID-19 PPEs to clinical students.

  The Womens’ Commissioner of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Miss Rabiatu Siaka has donated dozens of COVID-19 Personal protective equipment (PPEs) to clinical students at the Faculty Of Pharmacy And Pharmaceutical Sciences. The donation was done in line with one of the initiatives of the SRC to protect students from contracting the coronavirus. The donation which took place at brief ceremony on Wednesday 24th February, 2021 saw the SRC WOCOM  donate over 1,000  face masks to the Faculty. Speaking in an interview with Focus FM’s Lois Agartha Gyau, Rabiatu Siaka said they have had to donate the protective equipment to students of the Faculty because of the peculiar programmes that they run especially in their clinical year. “So the donation today was basically for  those in the clinical aspect of the programme,” she said.
