The Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology - KNUST, Prof (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson has revealed the plan put in place by the university management to kick start the 2020/2021 academic year in case the need arises. The Vice-Chancellor made this revelation in her meeting with Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (WiSTEM) on the 3rd of September 2020, where a question was posed to her on plans for the next academic year. In her quest of answering the question, the Vice Chancellor stated that several consultations and strategic plans have been made by the university senior members and management to ensure that the abnormality precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic does not eat so much into the academic float set out by the university. Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has paid a courtesy call on the 101 year old 2nd Vice-Chancellor of the university at his residence in Osu. The Professor thanked Dr.Evans-Anform for his role in nurturing a great University and informed him that KNUST is now the best University in west Africa, Ghana and the 14th best University in Africa. Dr. Evans-Anfom was full of praise for the Management of the University. He said it is prayer that the University will continue to go higher and higher in all spheres. The College of Science president Master Michael Abuah has made a remarkable female appointments after assuming office fully despite the uncertainty surrounding the progress of academic work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time ever in the history of College of Science Ms. Ama Kwartemaa Agyie Frimpong has been appointed the Senate speaker of the college together with Ms. Eghan Maame Ama Nyametsease and Ms. Ama Agyemang-Opambour Osei heading the Public Relations Office and the Judicial Committee respectively. If not for nothing, this administration would be remembered for the ultramodern 50K shuttle rank conducted infront of the Casely Hayford building (EHC) which seeks to provide comfort and shelter to students and the massive renovation done at the SRC secretariat. ABC will hand over to the ISRC on Wednesday at the SRC Secretariat however, the final phase of the transition process is expected to be done today within the hours of 3:00pm and 4:00pm. The Ramapo College of New Jersey has congratulated immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso on his crafty and ambitious leadership for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Professor Obiri-Danso’s four-year tenure as the KNUST Vice-Chancellor came to an end on July 31, 2020. Professor Mark Adom-Asamoah has been appointed as the acting Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Until his appointment, he was the Provost of the College of Engineering. He takes over from Prof (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson who was appointed the 11th Vice-Chancellor of the university effective August 1, 2020. A statement signed by the Registrar, Mr. Andrews K. Boateng indicated that Prof. Mark Adom-Asamoah has been appointed to as the Pro Vice-Chancellor until a substantive Pro VC is appointed in October 2020. Mark Adom-Asamoah is a Professor of Civil Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. He holds a PhD from the University of Bristol, UK, an MSc and DIC  from the Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, University of London and a BSc from KNUST.
