KwameTEK Diaries: Encounter with Deborah Laryea, The 1st Class Environmental Science Graduate who Now Moves Door to Door to Braid Hair for a Living

This Saturday on KwameTEK diaries will be the reality most young graduates face after school. Few weeks ago a thread popped up on Twitter concerning one Miss Deborah Laryea, a first class Environmental Science student who now moves from houses to shops to braid people's hair in search of her daily bread.
A tweet from one @EdwardAsare reveal the ordeal the Technocrat had to go through before she could afford something little for her self after she completed her National Service in 2019 with Ghana Manganese Company Ltd as a Health Safety and Environment officer. Pathetic enough, the young graduate revealed how hard her daily source of income becomes at times even though she keeps hoping that things will work best one day.
"I imagine it and my hands replicate my imagination.
Because it is home service that I do mostly,
I get as low as GHC 25” .
She also stated that there are times she doesn’t get any customer for a whole week but she’s still hopeful and has a positive mind towards life.
However, Deborah is motivated and hardworking. She still hopes to get a mainstream job but whilst she waits for that, she is keeping herself busy with her talent. Debby is happy doing hair and does not in any way look down on the profession. She sees it as a gift from God since the ability came to her naturally. All she wants is to improve herself in any way possible.
