SRC Constitution To Be Amended Soon - Michael Gyan, SRC JC

The office of the maiden technology University in Ghana - KNUST’s SRC Judicial Chairperson has hinted on an amendment of the KNUST SRC Constitution. We understand it’s as a result of a receipt of a petition to that effect earlier this semester.

His Lordship Michael Gyan, the Judicial Chairperson for the KNUST SRC in an interview with our media house confirmed that his office has received petitions for the amendment of the SRC constitution, he however denied to share the contents of the purported petition as he claimed the Judicial Council has to sit on it before it gets to the the public domain. He stated “the main reason would be because the constitution is over five (5) years hence the need to review it in light of modern development and also the presence of previous amendments which ought to be inserted into the constitution”

According to reports on the ground, the amended constitution will capture provisions such as the non-disqualification of candidates during vetting, an amendment which was done by the immediate outgone Judicial Chairperson His Lordship Samuel Adomako Pinamang and various Acts which has been passed by the KNUST SRC Parliament which has not yet been captured in the SRC constitution with the Students Association Dues Rate (SADR) Act being the most recent
