Commonwealth Hall petitions Dean Management Committee on SRC elections over rigging and irregularities

The Commonwealth Hall JCR has issued a 7 page petition addressed to the Management Committee investigating the rigging and irregularities of the 2021 SRC Elections.  The petition highlights many issues which, according to them, are improper and cannot be overlooked. They also called for an annulment of the results of some polling stations.  Their petition adds to a long list of petitions on the 2021 University of Ghana SRC Elections calling for anulment and/or re-voting in some polling stations. The UGSRC elections and its aftermath continues to rage on as major stakeholders keep asking for a rerun of parts or yhe entire runoff phase of the elections. The Mensah Sarbah Hall has been the latest bloc to petition this Committee as a letter sighted by the knusttigereye team reveals the entire EC board of the JCR Hall are asking the Committee to annul votes of the Hall due to the many irregularities that happened. On election day, the presiding officer was allegedly beaten, masked men believed to be from the traditional council stormed the polling station and destroyed electoral materials.  After the official presiding officer was beaten and had to escape for his safety, another person acted as EC and issued over 400 ballot papers to voters without verification. This extra voting happened after the stipulated 6pm for end of polls. Appointments Committee of KNUST SRC Parliament recommend for 13 appointees to be rejected by consensus

The appointments committee of the KNUST SRC Parliament chaired by the Deputy Speaker Hon. Eunice Anima Kyeremateng has issued a public statement recommending the parliament to to reject 13 appointees from the SRC President elect Master Michael Abuah. 2 weeks ago the 13th KNUST SRC Parliament appointments committee had a two-day sitting to vet all appointee nominees for the SRC.   The 2021 University of Ghana Students Representative Council elections is far from over as the committee set up to address issues of irregularities and rigging in the election has served letters of summons to all stakeholders of the election and the 10 individuals who petitioned the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs. Their summoning to appear before the committee is to help aid the committee in investigating matters of rigging and irregularities in many areas of the election. The terms of reference of the committee also include the provision of recommendations as to how the election should go. Many who witnessed the issues of the election are hoping that the committee will call for the rerun of the run-off phase whiles others are asking for a removal of the Electoral Commissioners, who were known to have perpetuated most of the shady dealings of the election. UG, Legon: UG TESCON Vice President endorses Nana B and Mr Acquah

The Tescon Vice President of the University of Ghana chapter of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy of New Patriotic Party (NPP) - UG Tescon, Janet Stephanie Rhule, has endorsed Samuel Amos Ofosu, candidate for president in this year's UG SRC elections. In a seminal post on social media, Miss Rhule recounted the loyalty of Samuel Amos Ofosu and his dedication to leadership and integrity. "I can attest to your hardwork and above all love for the things of God. I believe in you because you believe in UG students. I believe in you because I know your makeup is what UG students need in a leader" she said in the post.

UG Legon: UTAG President endorses Nana B and Mr Acquah for UGSRC Presidency

The President of the University Teachers Association of Ghana, Dr. Samuel Nkubaan, has endorsed the candidacy of Samuel Amos Ofosu and Mr Acquah in the upcoming UGSRC Elections. In a post on social media, Dr. Nkubaan gave indication of his strong confidence in the pair and hoped that they lead the students of the University of Ghana. His endorsement come on the back of a long line of endorsements for this team, which has been tipped to win the elections. The UGSRC race is getting heated as three other teams try to take the top spot.

SRC General Secretary elect Celebrates her birthday in grand style, graces orphanage with gifts

The people's favourite Benedicta Tiwaa Amankwah the elected SRC General Secretary has celebrated her birthday by visiting the orphanage to share with them the joy she feels as she gets blessed with an additional year Donating some food items and drinks to cheer the little ones on her day, she donated some bags of rice, biscuits and drinks to impact on the little ones. She asserted after the donation that putting a smile on the face of the little ones has always been a passion she yearns for and when the opportunity came for her to do what she thought of she took it. She added that there’s more blessing to give than to receive in this regard she shared the little she has with the young ones Upon receiving the gift items, the principal blessed her young heart and admonished that she continues to grace the institution with her benevolent acts.
