Godbless Agyekum Barfi Releases His Manifesto

FORWARDED BY THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE.

The opportunity beckons once again for I, Godbless Agyekum Barfi to seize the moment that a certain victory this year’s elections will bring. This victory will ensure that our college gets a leader who has served as a member of the KNUST School of Business Students’ Association Welfare Committee. This victory shall be the roadmap to building a better college. I am confident that with honesty, transparency and humble leadership, I pledge to provide, together with my running mate, Gabriel Gyasi Aseidu and other sides of the political divide, we shall be able to build an outstanding college.

ADMINISTRATION

Responsible administration with service, humility and integrity are the core foundations of this manifesto. The Godbless Agyekum Barfi led administration will be based on competence and expertise. It shall uphold and defend the good name of our noble college and its constitution.

INFORMATION

I do agree with the late Kofi Annan in his words: “Knowledge is power. Information is liberation, Education is the premise of progress in every society, in every family”. As a result my administration as its major priority will create an application called the COHSS APP on which students of this college will receive and send every needed information including time tables. This application will also contain a gallery where pictures of events and histories of the college will be kept for present and future generations.

INVESTING IN STUDENTS

With our mission to keep the administration closer to the students and promote the welfare of students, we will embark on the following to make sure students in the college are well placed;

BUSINESS IDEA CHALLENGE

To show our worth as members of this college, this challenge will be held in high esteem so that student representatives from each department of this college showcase their business ideas. The winner of such challenge will take away a cash prize for the support and promotion of such business idea.

CAREER FAIR AND LEADERSHIP SUMMITS

As part of our duty to ensure the betterment of the members of our college, career fairs and leadership summits would be organised. Such programmes would give students the needed information as potential employees and also equip with the needed leadership skills.

SUPPORTING NEEDY STUDENTS

In still seeking to promote the welfare of students in the college, we will embark on the following to make sure students in the college are well placed;

COHSS BOAFOƆ FUND

My administration will do its best possible to continue the initiative the past administration established, CoHSS Boafoɔ. As far as possible, we will do our best to increase the number of beneficiaries considerably.

HEALTH SUPPORT FUND

The Godbless Agyekum Barfi administration will also set aside some funds to support students who may be in serious health issues but struggling to get money to seek medical treatment or undergo operation. This fund shall go a long way to aid students who will lose their parents or guardian.

STUDENTS’ RELAXATION

To ensure students’ relaxation at the various faculty areas after lectures, my administration will build a summer house for the college. This will contain benches and tables, plugs and Wi-Fi access to students.

CONCLUSION

This manifesto is dedicated to students. It seeks to empower every student of the college to access the necessities of life and play a meaningful part in the development, transformation and the making of our college an outstanding one. We deserve to plant trees under those shades we never planned to sit. I stand to bring the brightest future and the most positive changes in our college. God bless COHSS, God bless you KNUST, God bless you Ghana, thank you.
