History made as Samuel Sesah Appoints First ever Female Chief of Staff for KNUST SRC

Nana Nhyira Boahene, a fifth (5th) year student from the College of Science offering Doctor of Optometry has been appointed as the Chief of Staff for the Sesah-Morris led administration.

It dawned on many when news broke out that Nana Nhyira Boahene has been named by His excellency Samuel Sesah, the President elect of the KNUST SRC as the Chief of Staff to his administration. Mimicking the national presidential appointments, many believe this call is one that will go down in history as one of the best and well deserved appointment as she is deemed worthy of that position.

ABOUT THE CHIEF OF STAFF (Nhyira Boahene)

Born on the 26th day of June 1998, Missus Nana Yaa Nhyira Boahene became a blessing to Mr Kingsley Boahene and Mrs Annette Boakye Boahene. Nhyira graduated from Rising Sun Montessori School where she acquired here basic education.

She furthered her education at Aburi Girls Senior High school where she did excellently well and gained admission into the most prestigious Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to read a six year degree program, Doctor of Optometry.

Nana Yaa Nhyira Boahene loves reading, takes pride in learning in order to know more. Her biggest aspiration is that she loves to help humanity especially women and Children, this has been her main dream since childhood. She’s not a feminist, but loves women in power, she adores Michelle Obama and Margaret Thatcher and sometimes Hillary Clinton.

In the capacity as chief off staff to the President, I am  going to manage the needs of the  president, Executive office, and all executives, such as overseeing executives satisfaction, reputation management, communication, and maximizing the Presidents reach.

  2. Head of class prefects Unit, Aburi girls Senior high school
  3. Assistant girls prefect, Rising Sun Montessori School.

Neglected Roads, Neglected Students: The Perilous Journey of KNUST Students Off-Campus

A dangerous footbridge students use The roads students ply off-campus, especially Ayeduase, home to many students, have long been a source of frustration and danger.  Despite being a key route for students commuting to and from the university, the condition of those roads has continued to deteriorate, with no plans for improvement in sight. The rainy season exacerbates the situation, transforming the roads into a maze of mud and deep potholes. Students are sometimes seen jumping on stones to avoid messing their shoes. During the dry season, the roads are marred by dust and uneven surfaces, making travel uncomfortable and hazardous.   For students off-campus, this means navigating treacherous paths daily, risking their safety and well-being in the process. Adding to the hazards are the open trenches, unsafe bridges and makeshift wooden structures over gutters. The hilly and rocky terrain further complicates the commute, requiring students to maneuver through challenging landscapes.  As

KNUST BUDGET READING TURNS CHAOTIC  The 16th KNUST SRC Parliamentary budget reading turned chaotic after members objected to the financial secretary’s fundraising and allocations. Sparking tensions among attendees. Members bemoaned low accountability and clarity in how the budget was read. On 3rd March, Mr. Ohenaku Kelvin the KNUST SRC Financial secretary was according to the constitution of the SRC stipulated to appear before the Parliament House and present budget of the 2023/2024 academic year. After reading a 42 page budget, submissions were made on the budget. According to eye witnesses, the chaos started when the speaker of Parliament gave mandate to only caucus heads to give their submissions.
