Mr Diing Diing cited he was psychologically tortured, emotionally drained and how he was bullied by Lead of the program at KNUST. Quoting from words in the message he posted on the official WhatsApp group of international students; “Friends, being part of this scholarship was the best I ever thought, it had a clear vision for me, to make me a transformative leader and transform other people’s lives.”

Diing Diing furthermore, elaborated that the Lead, bombarded him and another colleague, reminding them of how they come from marginalized communities and they should “shut-up” and accept the bad things, the way they are. He added that he is willing to leave the scholarship because his human dignity was at stake ,and being made to feel less than a person, isn’t what he signed up for.

MasterCard Foundation trains young people to be transformative leaders of integrity and morals; it encourages them to stand up for Justice, and respect for all life. It is clearly known that these scholars are selected basing on leadership skills, commitment to community give back, and being economically disadvantaged. However most of them like Diing Diing feel like it’s wrong to keep bullying them using their unfortunate past and filling their minds with negative sentiments. They are young people full of hope to transform Africa and the world at large.

No one knows the whereabouts of this young man from South Sudan.
Whoever gets any information about his whereabouts; please reach to mastercard foundation scholars program at KNUST or South Sudanese embassy.
