NDC Oforikrom Parliamentary Candidate Renews Partisan Food Distribution Allegations, Calls For Unison In Fighting COVID-19

Minority in parliament held a press conference on Friday to throw support behind Dr. Zanetor Rawlings claiming her allegations of partisan food distribution were true. A number of the Mps corroborated her story with instances of partisanship in food distribution in Accra and Kumasi.

In a set of new allegations, the National Democratic Congress’ Oforikrom Parliamentary Candidate accused government of distributing food on party lines in his constituency and Kumasi as a whole.

Two days ago in a reply to Dr Zanetor’s allegations on twitter, Honorable Henry Osei Akoto wrote,

“It is unfortunate that food is being distributed on party lines. It is happening here in Oseikrom too and this shouldn’t be happening. It’s not the fault of these people that the pandemic is here and it’s time for us to unite and help them.”

The candidate again on Friday posted a Press Release on his social media handles corroborating Dr. Zanetor’s story with claims that his constituency, Oforikrom is also a victim.

Press Release  From NDC Oforikrom Parliamentary Candidate, Mr Henry Osei Akoto

“I have been receiving videos of people complaining of hunger, I’ve been on the grounds doing my widow’s mite trying to salvage the situation and the stories are alarming. This is not the time to score political points and starve people in the name of politics. #Feedall,” he wrote on twitter.

Mr Henry Akoto Osei also called on government to use the $1 Billion COVID-19 loan facility prudently and pleaded with all to come to unison in fighting Coronavirus pandemic.
