KNUST SRC: ABC Cuts Sod for the Students Technology Challenge

The Duty Bound Administration led By Master Adu-Baah Charles bit by bit is unleashing the various programs tabled out for the students by his administration as earlier on aired on Focus FM.

The much anticipated Artificial Intelligence challenge dubbed The Students Technology challenge was launched earlier today at the Law Faculty by the SRC President together with some of his Executives. This innovative seeks to empower and build students with technological problem solving skills. The program sought to get students who can identify problems within the society and exhibit their Artificial Intelligence in solving such problems.

The program has been scheduled to last for four weeks and will include a basic training session every weekend.

DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM

• The pitching will start on Friday,6th December. This is where students grouped into various teams will be expected to exhibit how they can use their Artificial Intelligence to solve various problems identified within the society

• A group’s progress in the challenge will be based on the authenticity of what a group presents and also the votes of judges.

• Judges will comprise of people with technical and business minds. Such that ideas initiated by a group will be business friendly and attainable within the environment to attract investors.

• The best ten teams will be selected for an 8-week incubation period to brief them on how viable in terms of business their product is worth.

• Afterwards an opportunity will be given to do presentation on various platforms to invite as well as attract interested investors who are willing to invest in those initiatives.

• The SRC will seek support through high technological companies like Amazon and Microsoft to mitigate obstacles in the process. That is certain aspects of the challenge will be held on cloud at instances where some ideas demand hightech requirements which might be above the capacity of team members

During the launch, students present showed how excited they were about the whole initiative. Responses gathered so far are overwhelmingly positive. Today's training was basically on how to go about coding and working with different kinds of people within the team.
